Skyward Qmlativ Attendance

For your district's Skyward Qmlativ System Administrator. Takes about ten minutes, entirely inside Qmlativ's own admin screens.

Grant Ignite Rewards access to attendance

Ignite Rewards already runs inside your district's Canvas, turning graded assignments and teacher recognition into flames students redeem for rewards. This connects one more source: daily attendance, pulled directly from Skyward Qmlativ, so students earn flames for showing up — automatically, every school night, with nothing for teachers or office staff to maintain once it's connected.

Everything below happens inside Qmlativ's Administrative Access area. There is nothing to install, and no attendance data leaves Skyward except what's described under “What Ignite Rewards can see” below.

Audience: Skyward Qmlativ System Administrator
Estimated Time: 10 Minutes
Prerequisite: Access to Qmlativ's API > Integration Access screen, and the Attendance module in active use

Grant access

  1. Open the hamburger menu in Qmlativ and confirm you're in the Administrative Access portal, not a building-level one.

  2. Navigate to API → Integration Access.

  3. Click Add Integration Access, in the upper right.

  4. Give the record a name you'll recognize later — Ignite Rewards works well.

  5. From the Integration dropdown, select Ignite Rewards. Not showing up? Email us first (below) and we'll confirm your district can see it.

  6. Under Key, type any string you like. It doesn't need to be memorable or kept secret — it's only used to encrypt the connection secret Ignite Rewards generates on our end. Write it down; you'll send it to us in a moment.

  7. Set Authentication Type to OAuth 2.0. (Basic Authentication is being retired by Skyward and won't work with Ignite Rewards.)

  8. Under Entities, select every building whose attendance should count toward rewards — or your top-level district entity (commonly coded 000) to include all of them at once. A building left unselected here stays invisible to Ignite Rewards entirely.

  9. Click Save. A confirmation screen means the record now exists — Skyward will also email Ignite Rewards automatically to let us know.

Send us two things

Don't send the secret. Ignite Rewards generates and retrieves that ourselves through Skyward's Partner Portal — you'll never need to see, handle, or store it.

What happens next

We retrieve the connection secret, configure the integration on our end, and confirm with you before anything goes live. Once it's on, attendance syncs automatically every night — there's nothing further to maintain. If your Skyward administrator or entity list changes later, just update the Integration Access record yourself (or let us know); the next sync picks it up.

Out of scopeGrades, discipline, health, scheduling, or any other Skyward data outside the Attendance API.
