Ignite Rewards collects only the information necessary to deliver our educational services and comply with legal standards. This includes:

  • Students: Full name, email address, Canvas user ID, enrolled courses, academic progress, and platform engagement metrics.

All data is collected solely through authorized integrations, such as our Canvas LTI plugin, under direction from partner schools.

How We Use Your Data

The data we collect is used to:

  • Provide and maintain the Ignite Rewards program
  • Track and reward academic performance
  • Enhance and personalize the user experience
  • Improve platform functionality and features
  • Comply with FERPA, COPPA, and other applicable regulations

We do not use data for advertising or profiling unrelated to educational outcomes.

Legal Compliance

Ignite Rewards complies with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We act as a "School Official" under FERPA, processing student data under the authority of partner schools and with legitimate educational interest. For users under 13, we rely on school-facilitated parental consent in accordance with COPPA guidance for educational technology providers.

Data Sharing

We never sell or trade personal data. Limited sharing may occur with trusted third-party service providers solely for hosting, technical support, analytics, and reward fulfillment. All such providers are bound by strict contractual obligations to protect and safeguard user data in compliance with FERPA and COPPA.

We maintain robust technical and organizational safeguards including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Role-based access controls and audit logging
  • Multi-factor authentication for administrative access
  • Regular vulnerability assessments and security updates
